Madhuri Dixit, Bollywood superstar of 1990s made her comeback in film after six years with 2007 film “Aaja Nachle” which was declared a flop movie by Box Office India. She was a judge on TV reality show “Jhalak Dikhla Jaa” on Colours television. The-year-old actress will now be seen in “Dedh Ishqiya”, a sequel film of Vidya Balan starrer “Ishqiya”. Twitter

Thwe Crime Branch of Mumbai Police allegedly arrested a 23-year-old on Thursday for threatening Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit Nene to extort money.

The accused, identified as Praveen Kumar Pradhan, is a waiter by profession. Pradhan reportedly sent text messages to the actress in November demanding money. He also threatened her saying that he would kill his children if she did not pay him money, Press Trust of India reported.

Pradhan in the text messages also said that he has been associated with underworld don Chhota Rajan. Police have recovered the mobile phone, which he used to send the messages.

On 25 November, Madhuri received four threatening messages from an unidentified person and three days after that her assistant approached cyber cell.

"The messages were addressed to Madhuri Dixit and the sender threatened to kill her children," PTI quoted a police officer as saying.

"In one of the messages, Pradhan claimed he was associated with the gang of underworld don Chhota Rajan. The accused said he had trained a 15-year-old boy in handling weapons and bombs and this teenager would barge into Dixit's home to extort money," police officer added.

The accused has been arrested and will remain in police custody till today.

Recently, Mumbai police foiled a plan and arrested alleged gang members of don Ravi Pujari. The gang had planned to shoot filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and his family. 

The arrested members also revealed that they planned to attack "Happy New Year" actor Shah Rukh Khan's bungalow "Mannat" and Red Chillies Office, and director Farah Khan's home.

However, police arrested the 13 men in mid-November, before they could carry out the attacks.
