Tollywood actor Madala Ravi, who was arrested for molesting a girl in August, has finally broken his silence over the charges, stating that he is innocent and denied all allegations.

In a statement to IBTimes India, Ravi said he has decided to fight the case in the court of law. "All allegations against me are false and I am innocent. They filed baseless complaints against me. I will fight the case in the court of law. I have full confidence in our judiciary that I will get justice," said that doctor-turned-actor.

Ravi said he is upset over the media for making wrong allegations against him. "I came home the same day after getting bail from court and did not go to any jail. Some newspapers and social-networking sites have circulated wrong information about this. I did not commit any crime, so I will fight for justice and come out clean," added the actor.

On 13 August, Ravi, son of film producer and actor Madala Ranga Rao, was arrested by the Cyberabad Cyber Crime police for sending morphed photographs of his friend's daughter to her fiancé's father in a bid to stop her scheduled marriage. He was booked for molestation under the Criminal Amendment Act 2013 (Nirbhaya Act) after he admitted his "secret feelings" for her.

Madala Ravi had reportedly sent WhatsApp messages to the father from his wife's phone. "The victim has stated that he also made physical advances on her in his car and misbehaved with her. He used his wife's mobile phone in order to convince the family of her fiancé that the girl was having a relationship with him," Deccan Chronicle had quoted Cyber Crime Inspector S Rajasekhar Reddy as saying.

When the police quizzed his wife, they found out that she was innocent and that he had used the phone without her knowledge.

Ravi had also reportedly threatened the girl's father. "When the victim's father confronted him, he blackmailed him and threatened him with dire consequences," Janaki Sharmila, Cyberabad Additional DCP, had told Deccan Chronicle.
