The release dates of 0Irrfan Khan and Jimmy Shergill-starrer "Madaari" and Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani-starrer "Great Grand Masti" has been interchanged, after the adult comedy got leaked online.
"Madaari," directed by Nishikanth Kamath and distributed by Vashu Bhagnani, was scheduled to release on July 15 and Indra Kumar's directorial "Great Grand Masti" was slated to release on July 22. But since "Great Grand Masti" full movie got leaked online two weeks before its release, the makers of the film decided to advance the release date by a week. Now, "Madaari" will hit screens on July 22, while "Great Grand Masti" will be released on July 15.
When the makers of "Great Grand Masti" approached Vashu, he immediately agreed to postpone the release date of his film. "We're touched by Vashuji's gesture of moving his film ahead by a week on our request. The industry continues to stand thick as one body owing to such veteran producers," director Indra said in a statement.
Distributor and producer Vashu also talked about the film fraternity being one big family and said that they will always stand for each other. "The industry is one big family and we all operate for and with each other. Madaari will now hit theatres on 22nd July, while Great Grand Masti will come on 15th July," Vashu added.
Meanwhile, the change in the release date of "Madaari" has again pitted the film against Rajinikanth-starrer "Kabali." The Tamil film was earlier expected to release on July 15, but got postponed to July 22 and now "Madaari" release date has been changed to July 22.
