The much-awaited official trailer of Ranjith directorial "Loham", starring Mohanlal and Andrea Jeremiah in lead, was released on Tuesday, 18 August.

Last week, the teaser of Mohanlal starrer was trending on YouTube, garnering over two lakh views within 24 hours.

However, with just a few days left for the release of Mohanlal starrer "Loham", rumours had been doing rounds on social media platforms that the pirated version of Mohanlal's "Loham" was leaked online a week before its theatrical release. Some social media users have even reportedly posted "Loham" screenshots, claiming that they are watching the censor copy.

However, it was later revealed that the screenshots were taken from "Loham" teaser. The screenshots were doctored using Photoshop by inserting censor copy watermark on them before being spread online.

Some reports say that the fake news is a result of the ongoing fan war as there are several Malayalam films slated for clash at the box office for Onam. These include Mammootty's "Utopiayile Rajavu", Prithviraj's "Double Barrel", Kunchacko Boban's "Jamna Pyaari" and Vineeth Sreenivasan's "Kunjiramayanam".

The action-thriller, which is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas, will be released on 20 August in over 250 theatres with about 1,000 shows daily.

"Loham", with the catchy tag line "The Yellow Metal", revolves around the a taxi driver, Raju, (Mohanlal) and Jayanti, who hires his taxi. The incidents that follow forms the crux of the story.

The cast also include Ajmal Ameer, Siddhique, Renji Panicker, Harish Peradi, Mythili, VK Prakash, Tini Tom, Thesni Khan, Joju George, Gauri Nanda and Ashvin A Mathew. Actors like Aju Varghese, Srinda Arhaan, Pearly Maaney and Mani Kuttan will also be making guest appearances in the film.

Ranjith and Mohanlal had last teamed up for "Spirit", which was one of the popular films of 2012. The film fetched several awards that year, including National Film Awards for Best Film on Social Issue.
