The much-awaited official teaser of "Loham" starring Mohanlal and Andrea Jeremiah in lead, which was released on Wednesday, has been watched by over two lakh viewers within 24 hours.
The action-thriller, written and directed by Ranjith, is set to clash with Mammootty's "Utopiayile Rajavu" for the Onam week. The film, which is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas, will release on 20 August.
"Loham", with the catchy tag line "The Yellow Metal", revolves around the a taxi driver, Raju, (Mohanlal) and Jayanti, who hires his taxi. The incidents that follow forms the crux of the story.
The cast also include Ajmal Ameer, Siddhique, Renji Panicker, Harish Peradi, Mythili, VK Prakash, Tini Tom, Thesni Khan, Joju George, Gauri Nanda and Ashvin A Mathew. Stars like Aju Varghese, Srinda Arhaan, Pearly Maaney and Mani Kuttan will also be making guest appearances in the film.
The film was shot extensively at various locations in Kozhikode, Kochi and Dubai.
The music is composed by Sreevalsan J Menon, while the lyrics are written by Rafeeq Ahammed, Manoj Kuroor and Rajeev Nair.
Ranjith and Mohanlal had last teamed up for "Spirit", which was one of the popular films of 2012. The film fetched several awards that year, including National Film Awards for Best Film on Social Issue.
