Puri Jagannath's "Loafer" has received brilliant response at the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (AP/T) box office on the first day. It has become the biggest opener for Varun Tej as it has managed to beat the record of "Kanche".

Puri Jagannath is one the most successful commercial filmmakers. His latest venture "Loafer" has been creating ripples in the media ever since he announced that he would direct talented mega family hero Varun Tej. Adding to this hype, its promos have generated a lot of curiosity about the film among the movie buffs. The huge hype and promotion helped it registered decent advance bookings.

"Loafer" released in over 800 cinema halls across the globe. After seeing its hype, promotion, advance booking and huge screen count, trade expert predicted the movie will have massive start at the box office. It will become the biggest opener for Varun Tej, beating his previous record set by "Kanche".

The makers of "Loafer" held paid previews in some international markets on Wednesday night and the movie registered decent response. The film also garnered very good response in special screenings in India on Wednesday night and in early morning shows on Thursday.

The Varun Tej and Disha Patani starrer debuted with fantastic response in both single screens and multiplexes in the morning shows. Its business improved considerably in the later shows it has registered an average of 65% occupancy everywhere. The film had a houseful run in many centres on the first day.

The makers are yet to reveal the official numbers, but if we are to go by early estimates, "Loafer" has collected approximately Rs 5+ crore gross at the AP/T box office on the first day. The movie has fetched a share of around Rs 3.75 crore to its distributions of these regions on its opening day, according to Andhra Box Office.

When compared to its opening day business, "Loafer" has emerged as massive opener for the actor.
