That is all from me (Rajarshi Majumdar) and IBTimes India edition. We will be back with the live blog coverage of the second T20 on Friday. Till then stay healthy stay fit, see you soon!

India lead the the three-match T20 1-0 now. The total of 188 runs proved to be way too much for Australia. They were bundled out for a meagre total of 151. Virat Kohli has been adjudged the man of the match for his outstanding innings.

Bumrah hit the right note and picked up 3 wickets yet again. Ashwin and Jadeja picked up four wickets in between them. Together they conceded 49 runs in 8 overs and that is fantastic indeed!

Finch agreed at the presentation that 170 runs would have been ideal. But 188 was way too much. Australia crumbled like a house of cards towards the end.

It is all over. Australia bundled out for 151. India win by 37 runs. Bumrah picked up his 3rd wicket. What a performance from the Indians.

5:30: What a victory this will be for India. It will give them a lot confidence ahead of the second T20 international on Friday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Australia 151/9 in 19 overs. 38 more needed from 6 balls.

BOWLED! Ashish Nehra this time. Richardson is gone. Australia 149/9.

5:27: Australia wera at a point cruising as they had 82 runs on the board with nine wickets in their bag. But all of a sudden, Indian spinner pulled back things brilliantly. Bumrah has continued to impress the fans and his skipper in this tour. Australia 147/8 in 18 overs. 42 more needed from 12 balls.

BOWLED! Wonderful bowling from Bumrah. what a turnaround this is from the Indian bowlers. Australia 143/8.

5:20: This is superb stuff from India. Pandya, who got hammered for 19 runs in his first over was all of a sudden on a hat-trick. He picked up the crucial wickets of the dangerous Chris Lynn and Matthew Wade. This is how Dhoni is vintage with his tactics in this format of the game. Australia 136/7 in 17 overs. 53 needed from 18 balls.

Pandya gets his second! Removes Wade. Exceptional catch from Jadeja in the outfield. This game is well over for the Aussies. Australia 129/7.

5:16: What a comeback from Ashwin. He gave away 17 runs in his first over that he had bowled early on. In his next three overs he has just conceded 11 runs. Australia are in all sorts of trouble here. Australia 129/6 in 16 overs. 59 runs more needed.

5:12: Lynn is GONE! Huge wicket. Pandya is pumped! Yuvraj takes a blinder. That was hit like a rocket. Australia 124/6 in 15 overs. 64 more needed.

Pandya probably was a bad choice to bowl at this juncture. Should have gone to Yuvraj or Raina. You cannot bowl length balls at this moment. Lynn is going to hit them out of the park all day. Lynn has got a reputation and that is just the kind of pace he has faced during the Big Bash League recently. 12 runs came from that Pandya over.

5:05: Half of the Australian side are back in the pavilion and the now the onus is on Lynn, Matthew Wade and Jimmy Faulkner. Dont forget, Australia bat pretty deep. India are right on top here. Australia 112/5 in 14 overs. 77 more needed.

Watson is GONE! Ashwin picks up another, good catch from Nehra.

5:02: Singles will not hurt the Indians but it will definitely add extra pressure on the Australians. The required run rate is on the rise. It has already gone above 11. Australia are in some sort of a trouble here. What a spell it was from Jadeja. Australia 108/4 in 13 overs. 77 more needed.

4:59: Yuvraj Singh is into the attack. One would probably feel that Ashwin should have bowled another over. This is good stuff from India. Watson is out there in the middle with Lynn. India should maintain that pressure on the Australian. Australia 103/4 in 12 overs. 82 more needed.

4:57: What a spell of spin bowling from the two spinners. They are going to hurry through their overs. Australia 93/4 in 11 overs. 92 more needed.

Jadeja picks up Travis Head! Australia lose their 4th wicket.

4:53: Two inexperienced batsmen out there in the middle. Lynn and Head. India are right back in the game here with two huge wickets of Smith and Finch. Ashwin all of a sudden is getting some turn here. Excellent over from Ashwin. Just 2 runs and a wicket in that over. Australia 91/3 in 10 overs. 94 more needed.

GONE! Finch is gone! Ashwin strikes for India.

4:50: That was a huge wicket for India. Smith is back in the hut. Kohli looks pumped out there in the middle. We have a game on here at the Adelaide oval. Good change of pace from Jadeja. Australia 89/2 in 9 overs.  96 more needed.

Jadeja removes Smith! Huge wicket.

4:45: Finch is not going to stay quiet as he will play his shots. That was a pretty bad over from Pandya. Five extras and that is almost like an extra over that he bowled. Nervous moments for the youngster. It is understandable. Australia are looking comfortable out there. 19 runs came from that over. Australia 82/1 in 8 overs. 103 more needed.

3 consecutive wides and that will not make Dhoni happy. A bad start. Three runs already and still 6 balls to be bowled.

Hardik Pandya is into the attack and bowls a wide! Not an ideal start.

4:39: Jadeja was brought into the attack straight away. Dhoni and his men will try and slow things down a bit. But Smith is already playing those big shots. Australia are trying to back themselves with that 100 runs from the last 10 overs. But in that case Australia need to be around that 90 run mark at the end of 10 overs. Good over from Jadeja under pressure. seven runs came from that. Australia 63/1 in 7 overs. 122 more needed.

4:36: Warner tried to pull one through the mid wicket region but ended up misting the ball and it went straight to Kohli. Steve Smith walked out in the middle and he immediately hit two fours off Bumrah to put the pressure back on India. Australia 56/1 in 6 overs. 129 more needed.

OUT! Bumrah picks up the big wicket of David Warner.

4:29: Australia are off to a great start here at the Adelaide Oval. Things are not looking good for the Indians. Nehra bowled a relatively better over than his previous one. Australia 47/0 in 5 overs. 138 more needed.

4:25: What an over this was from the youngster under pressure. Kept both the batsman relatively quiet that the other bowlers have not been able to do so far. This is good stuff India. This is just the kind of line and length that the bowlers will have to bowl. Just three runs from that Bumrah over. Australia 37/0 in 4 overs. 148 more needed.

Straight away a huge appeal but umpire said no!

Jasprit Bumrah is into the attack now. India need wickets here!

4:20: Australia are well on course for that target. Warner is on fire here. Nehra has bowled a bad length to the left-handed batsman. This is just the kind of start Australia were looking for. It is quite simple - make Warner drive the ball and that is exactly where he is vulnerable. Australia 34/0 in 3 overs. 151 more needed.

4:16: Ashwin is into the attack straight away. This is good attacking thinking from Dhoni. Finch escaped twice in this over as he skied the ball twice. But it was an expensive over from Ashwin. 17 runs came from that over. Australia 22/0 in 2 overs. 163 more needed.

4:12: Good over from Ashish Nehra. After being hit for a four from the first ball it was definitely a good comeback. Nehra will look to add some more scalps his name. India 5/0 in 1 over. 185 more needed.

Here is the first ball and Finch smashes it down the square leg boundary for a four!

Ashish Nehra will open the bowling for India. Finch on the other hand will be on strike.

Indian players assemble in a huddle. The openers are walking out in the middle.

India scored 60 runs from the last 5 overs! How costly will that be! Australia have a terrific batting lineup! We have a game on here. The players will be out in the middle soon. Do not go anywhere. Stay tuned.

The run chase will begin shortly. Get some cold drinks and pop corn. The stage is set and let us see who wins this battle! Stay tuned ladies and gentlemen. I will be back with the live updates of the action from the run chase in sometime!

India have now now put a seriously good total on the scoreboard. That is very much defendable. Australia will have to bat really well to get to that target of 189 runs.

Virat Kohli has been the stand out batsman for India. His innings of 90 runs from just 55 balls powered India to this big total. Raina was struggling out there in the middle clearly but his 41 runs from 34 balls was equally important. At the end it was vintage Dhoni stuff. He scored 11 runs from just 3 balls. Helped India get 14 runs from the last over.

Shane Watson was the pick of the bowlers for Australia. Rest of the bowlers got some stick from the Indian batsmen.

Two from the last ball and India finish on 188/3 in 20 overs.

Single taken Kohli on strike now.

FOUR MORE! This is classic Dhoni for you ladies and gentlemen!

SIX from Dhoni!

Raina is GONE! Faulkner knocks him over.

Single from the first ball

Last six balls to be bowled! How many  more can India get?

3:39: 14 runs came from that Richardson over. Kohli and Raina has batted well in the death overs here. India 174/2 in 19 overs.

2 more for Kohli. Last ball to be bowled.

Excellent running from these two. 2 runs from the 4th ball.

Boundary from the bat of Virat Kohli. Through the fine leg. 9 runs already from 3 balls in this over.

Single off the next ball. Four more balls to go. Kohli is on strike now.

Boundary for Raina from the first ball.

Let me get you a ball-by-ball update from the last 12 balls

3:34: India need a couple of big over here. They need to reach that 190 run mark in order to put Australia under pressure. India are trying desperately here to attain that score. Faulkner has bowled well here. 12 runs came from that Faulkner over. India 160/2 in 18 overs. 12 more deliveries to be bowled.

Raina has broken the shackles here! Huge Six over mid wicket. Picked the slower ball brilliantly!

3:29: Faulkner and Richard are going to bowl the last four overs. 100 runs partnership comes up as well. What is striking about this partnership is that Raina has only managed to score 26 runs and that too run-a-ball. Kohli has been brilliant at the other hand. For Raina - either go for the kill or get yourself out man! There are a number of big hitters in that dugout! Indian fans will be gutted with his performance at this moment. India 148/2 in 17 overs.

3:25: The way Kohli is batting at the moment. He can easily reach his maiden century in T20 cricket. Tait and Watson have been bowled out by Finch. India are clearly looking at something around 190 run mark. India will be disappointed if they do not cross that 180 run mark. They have so many wickets in hand. Raina has to make a move now. India 140/2 in 16 overs. 4 overs to go after this.

Kohli is on roll. Smashes Tait over a square leg boundary for a six!

3:20: What a spell from Shane Watson under pressure! This is match winning stuff from Watto. Raina is battling to find the middle of the bat. Meanwhile, all the pressure is over Kohli. He is finding the gaps rather easily. He is clearly looking in great touch. India 128/2 in 15 overs. 5 more overs to be bowled.

3:15: Better over for India. 11 runs came from that Richardson over. Raina is clearly struggling to score out there. He needs to do something about it. India 117/2 in 14 overs.

50 for Virat Kohli from just 32 balls. Boy he is in some form at this moment. That was also his 10th T20 international fifty.

Virat Kohli is on fire here at the Adelaide Oval. He has just hit two back to back boundaries.

How many more runs can India score in the remaining 42 balls? What do you think guys?

3:11: Raina has not been able to play that pull shot freely. He has struggled a bit. Kohli is trying hard to keep that scoreboard ticking. Meanwhile, India has reached the 100-run mark in the 13th over. Raina is not quiet looking as fluent as he is normally in this format of the game. Watto just bowled a brilliant over. India 106/2 in 13 overs.

Watson is back into the attack! He has been the best of the bowlers for Australia.

3:06: Good over for India. They need to keep going. Especially, when you are getting nine from the over. At times you have got to target a bowler and try and make it 15 an over. India 98/2 in 12 overs.

50 partnserhip comes up with a six from Kohli!

Boyce continues! He has done well so far.

3:03: Kohli is looking good out in the middle but he has to make a move now. Good first over from Head. 9 runs came from that over. Almost a run out chance in the last ball but Raina is home safely. India 88/2 in 11 overs.

Travis Head is bowling his first over!

3:01: Things are slowing down for India here. Cameron Boyce are bowling extremely well under difficult circumstances. Kohli and Raina needs to put their step on the accelarator. Just four runs came from that over. 10 more overs to be bowled. How much India will score? Well, we will have to wait and watch. India 79/2 in 10 overs.

2:56: An eventful over from Faulkner comes to an end. Raina and Kohli are looking solid out in the middle there. 10 runs in an over from here will take India to 180+. That is exactly what they will be aiming. India 75/2 in 9 overs.

Raina was not ready and Faulkner knocked the bells off! Umpire calls it a dead ball. It is all happening here at the Adelaide Oval.

Faulkner gets the ball and Raina welcomes him with a boundary over the short cover fielder! He loves playing that shot does not he?

2:51: Both Raina and Kohli are good runners and they will keep the scoreboard ticking even if they cannot hit boundaries. Meanwhile, nothing seems to be bothering either of these two batsmen. Raina and Kohli are looking comfortable out in the middle. 9 runs came from that Boyce over. India 67/2 in 8 overs.

Spin straight away. Cameron Boyce is into the attack now.

2:47: Watson has bowled really well in this match so far. It always feels good when you knockout two opening batsmen. Raina and Kohli are also not going to keep quiet for long. But looking at the way things are, Watto is right on the money and has managed to keep these two quiet. Just four runs from that over. India 58/2 in 7 Overs.

2:43: Bringing back Shaun Tait was a good attacking move from Finch but he has been all over the place. He is bowling quick but he has not able to hit the right line and length. Kohli meanwhile has looked solid and already hit a brilliant square cut off Tait. The powerplay overs done and India still have a good run rate. Just the kind of start they were looking for. But the visitors have lost two quick wickets here. India 54/2 in 6 overs.

Good change of pace baffled both the batsmen! Raina and Kohli will look to rebuild this innings now.

2:38: What a way to announce a comeback! Ladies and gentlemen Shane Watson is back! Watto has now picked up two quick wickets in the form of Rohit and DHawan in the same over. Suresh Raina is out in the middle. All of a sudden, India are on the back seat. India 41/2 in 5 overs.

2:36: Double Impact for Shane Watson! This time it is Shikhar Dhawan. He is gone too.

GONE! Rohit Sharma and welcome back Shane Watson! What a way to start. India 40/1.

2:30: Rohit Sharma dropped! Oh how costly that will be! and he follows it up with a boundary over the mid wicket boundary. Faulkner bowles a decent over under the circumstances. India are cruising at the moment. India 40/0 in 4 overs.

James Faulkner is into the attack!

Rohit Sharma has quickly moved on to 22 from just 14 balls. How much will he score tonight? What do you think guys?

2:27: Rohit Sharma is creating a lot of trouble here for the Australian bowlers. Even Shaun Tait's fiery pace is not helping their cause. All of a sudden, Tait is looking to get his line and length correct here. He is under pressure clearly What a tour this has been for Rohit. Can he make an impact in this game as well? He is well on course for that it seems. 13 runs came from that Tait over. India 31/0 in 3 overs.

2:21: The wicket is absolutely flat and the batsman can actually attain that score of 170-180 plus. The ball is doing quite a bit. The batsmen will have to be careful. Rohit has got a fantastic mindset at this moment. He is already looking dangerous. India 18/0 in 2 overs.

Kane Richardson is sharing the new ball with Shaun Tait.

2:16pm: Tait is bowling seriously fast here. The ball is moving after hitting the deck as well. Rohit Sharma has already shown intent that he is not going to keep quiet as he has been in red hot form. 10 runs came from that over. India 10/0 in 1 Over.

SIX! That was close. It almost went down the throat of the fine leg fielder but Rohit had enough on the ball to take it over the boundary for a six.

First boundary from the bat of Rohit. He just guided the ball towards the square leg boundary.

Here is the first ball and Rohit plays and misses. Good bounce and pace. 150 kmph! That is seriously fast.

Rohit Sharma will face the first ball and Shaun Tait will bowl the first over.

The players are out in the middle! The stage is set for a thrilling encounter.

Now its time for the Australian National Anthem. Happy Republic Day to all you Indians out there and Happy Australia Day to all you Australians!

The national anthem of India is being played at the Adelaide Oval!

The players are ready to walk out in the middle. Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma are going to open the batting for India!

The live action will be underway soon. Hold on to your seats guys as this is going to be one hell of an encounter!

Chris Lynn, Travis Head, Cameron Boyce, Shane Watson and Shaun Tait are the new faces in the Australian squad for this match.

It is a good balanced team for India. Ashwin gets a nod over Harbhajan. Pandya makes a debut. WHat is your thought folks? The middle order boasts names like - Raina, Yuvraj, Dhoni!

Here are the teams for you ladies and gentlemen:

Aaron Finch has won the toss and they will bowl first!

It is toss time at the Adelaide Oval!

The Toss is about to happen. Are you ready guys?

The grass cover is nice and it might just spin a bit too. That is what Mark Waugh said at the pitch report. 170 par score here at the Adelaide Oval.

The pitch report is on your way folks!

Coming back to Yuvraj Singh who has tormented the Australians in the past. Can he do it again? Aaron Finch has already mentioned that they have made some special plans for Yuvi and Suresh Raina. It is for sure that Yuvi still has the pedigree and he will be raring to go. It is just that he will take some time to get used to international cricket again!

It is confirmed Hardik Pandya is making his T20 debut for India.

Guys, you have got to wait for some more time as the pitch report and toss is on its way! The teams will be announced soon as well. Stay glued to these updates!
