Many market analysts had predicted that the year 2013 will be dominated by big-screen smartphones. Holding true to the predictions, the technology market did witness a number of 5.0-inch plus smartphone releases during international electronics convention CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2013 in January.

Among the top players, Samsung released its 5.0-inch Galaxy Grand and Sony unveiled a similar sized Xperia Z. HTC's big-screen smartphone, Butterfly, also made its way to the global markets last month.

Now, the 5.5-inch LG Optimus G Pro is reportedly set for a launch at the upcoming MWC 2013 event. This speculation became more credible a couple of days ago when LG released a teaser video with a tag "Are you ready for the next breakthrough from LG?" referring to the MWC 2013 event.

'MWC 2013' is scheduled to take place in Barcelona, Spain this month between Feb 25 and 28.

According to various reports, many other companies are also set for new releases later this year. One the most anticipated devices would be Samsung's 6.3-inch Galaxy Note 3 which is speculated for a grand entry in July.
