Kriti Sanon tries to ape Deepika Padukone, gets cosy with Shahid Kapoor; Rashmika Mandanna dances away in Bandhu 2.0 song from Cocktail 2

In the trailer of Cocktail 2, audiences got a brief glimpse of the recreated version of Tum Hi Ho Bandhu, leaving many eager for the full track. After much anticipation, the makers finally released Bandhu 2.0 on Wednesday. Starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna, Bandhu 2.0 is a remake of the iconic Tum Hi Ho Bandhu from the 2012 film Cocktail, which featured Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan and Diana Penty.

The music video begins with Shahid, Kriti and Rashmika watching the original song from Cocktail. The nostalgic moment soon turns into a playful discussion about whether they should recreate the popular track in their own style.

In one of the fun moments in the video, Shahid jokingly remarks that they would be trolled if they attempted to remake the song.

The recreated version has been composed by Pritam, who also composed the original track, while the vocals of Kavita Seth and Neeraj Shridhar have been retained, adding to the nostalgic appeal.

Bandhu 2.0 shows Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon dancing their heart out, in a colourful and vibrant setup.

Soon after its release, the song became a topic of discussion on Reddit and other social media platforms, with netizens sharing mixed reactions. While some praised the fresh take and the chemistry between the lead trio, others felt the original Tum Hi Ho Bandhu remains unmatched.
A Reddit user wrote, "Looks like this was planned at the last minute to create buzz. Also, we are in an era where Bollywood trolls itself so that the audience doesn't troll them playing it safe. Anyways, this feels so nostalgic. I feel so grown up remembering those 9XM days when this song used to play so much.."

Many even said that the song is good, but Kriit is trying hard to copy Deepika Padukone. While Rashmika is true to her role and not copying Diana penty.

One more netizen commented, "What the heck is this? The added beats are unnecessary and atrocious, the visuals and dance steps are even worse (sic)."

At the end of the shoot, Shahid declares confidently, "We killed it!" while Kriti jokingly reminds him that they might still get trolled. Shahid eventually concludes with a laugh, saying they should go ahead and release it regardless of online reactions.
