Kollywood has produced over 200 films in 2015, and the audience has been witness to both, good and bad films. The industry also received the message from the audience that there was no guarantee for success, even if an A-list actor was part of a film.

That does not mean that the actors did not do justice to their roles. Actually, actors did their best and there was no instance in the year where a movie failed due to the poor performance of an actor.

Well, it is now time for us to pick best actors, irrespective of the fact that their film did well at the box office or failed to keep the cash registers ringing.

Ajith for "Vedalam" & "Yennai Arindhaal"
Ajith has done two films in 2015. While "Yennai Arindhaal" was an average grosser, "Vedalam" turned out to be a big hit. His roles were highly appreciated by critics and audience alike.

Vijay for "Puli"
Vijay starrer "Puli" failed to make it big at the box office, but the actor impressed the audience with his strong, multiple characters in the fantasy-adventure.

Suriya for "Massu"
Suriya's "Massu" was an average hit at the box office. The actor was seen in dual roles, and his character deserves to be on the top spot.

Kamal Haasan for "Uttama Villain", "Papanasam & "Thoongaa Vanam"
How often do we witness three movies of Kamal Haasan in a year? 2015 is special for this reason. He was seen in a variety of roles, and it is quite difficult to choose which is the best role done by him this year.

Dhanush for "Anegan", "Maari" &" "Thanga Magan"
Dhanush had three releases in Tamil like Kamal Haasan. "Anegan" made good business, "Thanga Magan", which released last week is showing the signs of becoming a hit but "Maari" failed to impress the audience.

Vikram for "I"

Karthi for "Komban"
After a series of flop, Karthi returned to form with "Komban". The film gave him a much-needed success, and his strong character of a 'rowdy' was highly impressive.

Raghava Lawrence for "Kanchana 2"
Devil-possessed character of Raghava Lawrence had worked in "Kanchana", and the sequel was no exception. His performance garnered a lot of appreciation, and the film became one of the top hits in 2015.

Jayam Ravi for "Thani Oruvan" and "Romeo Juliet"
Jayam Ravi was mostly known for his remake films but this year he put serious effort to change that image. As a result, he was part of the hit film "Romeo Juliet", where his role was peppered with comedy, and the blockbuster "Thani Oruvan", the biggest hit of his career till date.
