The prime suspect in the recent sensational shootout triggered by a bar brawl here that left one man dead has been arrested from near the Surat airport in Gujarat, police said on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off, police laid a trap and nabbed Bablu Bose alias Nanty from near the airport on Sunday, city's Joint Commissioner of Police Pallab Kanti Ghosh told media persons.

So far, seven people have been arrested with regard to the shootout that left one person dead and two others injured on July 16.

Between 30 and 35 bullets were fired and some bombs hurled by assilants during the shootout in Haridevpur in the city's southern fringe.

Police said bouncers at the bar had got into a heated argument with some unidentified people a little after midnight when they refused to pay for the bar services. The free-trippers left, but came back some time later in more numbers and started firing indiscriminately.

A stray bullet hit a nearby pedestrian who was taken to hospital where doctors declared him dead. Two others also sustained injuries.
