Unveiled in October, Kodak Ektra is finally ready to hit the stores. The company has announced that the new camera-centric smartphone will be made available in select regions of Europe later this month.
Kodak Ektra will be first made available in Germany for €499 (around $531/Rs 36,184) from December 9 onwards via Amazon, Media Markt, Ringfoto, Saturn, kodakphones.com and notebooksbilliger.de, Android Authority reported.
The company also plans to sell through Deutsche Telekom from January 16, 2017 and later, it will be made available outside Europe in following months.
Kodak Ektra's highlight is its camera. It houses proprietary 21MP Kodak camera with non-reflective lens cover, f/2.0 aperture size, OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), dual-tone LED flash, autofocus, PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus), HDR (High Dynamic Range) and 4K video recording.
Its primary camera also boasts intuitive touchscreen with DSLR Dial (having haptic touch), customisable manual mode (with adjustable shutter speed and ISO rating), horizontal two-step shutter release option and comes with a plethora of scene mode selection.
On the front, it houses a standard 13MP shooter, decent enough to get you a good quality selfie.
Another notable aspect of the Kodak Ektra's is its design language. It flaunts leather cover on the back with steel rimmed camera module, well crafted frame with metal-finish around the edges and smooth curvy bump on at the bottom, so that when the device is held horizontally to capture an image, it gives nice grip to the hand reminiscing the Kodak's most popular analog cameras.
Other stipulated features of Kodak Ektra include 5.0-inch full HD (1920x1080p) display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection, Android Marshmallow OS, MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core CPU, 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt storage (expandable), Type-C USB port and a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging technology.
