Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor-starrer "Ki and Ka" has failed to beat the records of "Kapoor and Sons" to emerge as the second highest opening weekend grosser at the domestic box office. However, the film has taken the third spot in the highest third-day grosser of 2016 list.

"Ki and Ka" had a good third day box office run. The film minted Rs. 9.52 crore Sunday, which took its three-day box office collection to Rs. 25.23 crore. The opening weekend of R Balki's directorial film is the third highest after Akshay Kumar's "Airlift," which minted Rs. 44.30 crore, and Fawad Khan-Sidharth Malhotra starrer "Kapoor and Sons," which minted Rs. 26.35 crore.

"#KiAndKa has a WONDERFUL weekend. Performs VERY WELL at plexes of urban centres. Emerges 3rd highest opening weekend of 2016 *so far* #KiAndKa Fri 7.30 cr, Sat 8.41 cr, Sun 9.52 cr. Total: ₹ 25.23 cr. India biz. Needs to maintain momentum on weekdays for a STRONG Week 1... HIGHEST OPENING WEEKEND OF 2016 [so far]: 1. #Airlift 2. #KapoorAndSons 3. #KiAndKa. Note: Hindi films. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

The film had a good opening weekend, but now it needs to maintain a good pace in the coming days. Looking at its opening weekend earnings, the film will record the third-highest first week box office collection, but it needs to perform well on weekdays too.
