Director Prashanth Neel's movie KGF starring Yash and Srinidhi Shetty will have its pre-release event on Sunday and director SS Rajamouli will be at the function, which will be live streamed on YouTube.

KGF (Kolar Gold Fields) is a Kannada-language action-period drama film, which has been made in two installments titled Chapter 1 and 2. The movie is written and directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner Hombale films. The film has been dubbed in four other languages - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. All the five versions will be released at the theatres on December 21.

Korrapati Ranganatha Sai, the owner of Varahi Chalana Chitram, has acquired the theatrical rights of KGF's Telugu version and he is  going to release it on a grand scale across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Now, he is busy promoting the film and is holding a pre-release function for it as a part of its publicity.

Korrapati Ranganatha Sai has produced SS Rajamouli's blockbuster movie Eega and he has also co-produced Andala Rakshasi with the latter. Ever since, the producer has maintained a good relationship with the director. He reportedly requested the Baahubali helmer to be the chief guest at the pre-release event of KGF. He has accepted his offer and is attending the function.

Korrapati Sai has made grand arrangements for the pre-release event of KGF in Hyderabad as the poster displayed at the entry of the venue. This function is live-streamed on the Facebook account of Hombale films, which posted, "Watch #KGF Pre Release Event youtube LIVE today at 6:30 PM."

A period drama set in the 1970s, KGF follows the story of a fierce rebel who rises against the brutal oppression in Kolar Gold Fields and becomes the symbol of hope to legions of downtrodden people. Yash and Srinidhi Shetty are playing the lead roles and Achyuth Kumar, Malavika Avinash, Anant Nag and Vasishta are in the supporting roles.
