KGF: Chapter 1 14-day box office collection: Telugu version crosses Rs 15 crore in AP/TS

The Telugu version of KGF: Chapter 1 has kept the cash registers ringing at the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (AP/TS) box office in the second week and its 14-day total collection has crossed the Rs 15 crore gross mark.

KGF: Chapter 1 is a Kannada-language period action film starring Yash and Srinidhi Shetty. The movie has been written and directed by Prashanth Neel and Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films. Since the film has universal appeal, the makers dubbed and released it in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. Sai Korrapati of Varahi Chalana Chitram has distributed the film in the Telugu states.

Though the makers promoted KGF: Chapter 1 heavily in the Telugu states, the people in the T-Town were skeptic about its prospects. The reason for that is the fact that it clashed with most hyped Telugu films like Padi Padi Leche Manasu starring Sharwanand and Antariksham starring Varun Tej.

But to their surprise, KGF: Chapter 1 had a decent opening in the Telugu states, while Padi Padi Leche Manasu and Antariksham received lukewarm responses. The word of mouth fared well for the film on the following days and it collected Rs 8.75 crore gross at the AP/TS box office in the first week.

The Yash and Srinidhi Shetty starrer clashed with Bluff Master, Idam Jagath, Manchukurisevelalo, Ishtangaa and two other small budget Telugu films in the second week, but it remained undeterred by them. KGF: Chapter 1 has collected approximately Rs 6.40 crore gross at the AP/TS box office in the second week, taking its total collection to Rs 15.15 crore gross in 14 days.
