Antony Varghese aka Aadu Antony, who had been on the run after allegedly killing police constable Maniyanpillai and injuring another person in Kollam in 2012, was arrested by the Kerala Police on Tuesday, 13 October.

After three years of manhunt, the 49-year-old was arrested from Chittoor in Palakkad. He was hiding at one of his 17 wives' house. The reports suggest that he was arrested after he made a call on his son's phone, which the police had tracked. 

The accused, who has been named in more than 100 criminal cases, has been taken to the headquarters of Palakkad crime branch.

Earlier, the Kerala Police Chief had released a notice announcing a reward amount of Rs 1 lakh for helping them capture the criminal. The message was also posted on the official Facebook page of TP Senkumar.

According to the reports, Palakkad special branch DySP Sunil Kumar and other officials will soon be rewarded for arresting the criminal.
