Kaun Banega Crorepati 10 premiere: 10 things to know about Amitabh Bachchan's KBC

Legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan's successful stint as host of the quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) continues with the show's tenth season premiering tonight. Kaun Banega Crorepati 10 (KBC 10) begins on Monday, September 3 and will be aired on Sony Entertainment Television at 9 pm IST.

The first KBC was aired in the year 2000 on Star Plus. It has now been 18 years and 10 seasons of the show. So what's new in the 10th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati?

Here are 10 things you need to know about KBC 10.

1 - Kab Tak Rokoge

The KBC 10 campaign went live with the hashtag #KabTakRokoge, showcasing and celebrating the spirit of resilience of its contestants. KBC, has over the years, had many contestants who have overcome obstacles to reach new heights in life and Amitabh Bachchan has admitted to feeling emotional hearing their stories.

2 - Opening episode of KBC 10

The opening episode of KBC 10 will have a poem by Amitabh Bachchan, the same poem on the theme of Kab Tak Rokoge, that he recited for journalists at the press conference. Here is a glimpse of the poem from the new promo of KBC 10.

3 - Competition for Bigg Boss 12 with 60 episodes!

Last year, Amitabh Bachchan's KBC 9 beat Salman Khan's Bigg Boss 11 in the battle for television rating points. The same could happen this year with Bigg Boss 12. KBC 10 is all set to enthral audiences for 12 weeks! There will be 60 episodes of KBC 10, with five (5) episodes per week.

4 - Use of Augmented Reality (AR) for the first time on Indian television

For the first time in India on TV, the technology of Augmented Reality (AR) will be applied on KBC 10. It will be a visual delight for viewers and fun to see Amitabh Bachchan interacting with AR elements like Dhanalay (the money pyramid), Ghadi Buddy (the timer) and the Lifelines. Apart from this, the 10 contestants on each episode of KBC 10 will be introduced via an AR map of India.

5 - Ask the Expert

Apart from the usual KBC Lifelines of 50:50, Audience Poll and Jodidaar, KBC 10 will see the return of a Lifeline used in an earlier season - Ask the Expert. As the name suggests, an expert will be available to KBC 10 contestants on the hot seat via video call to help them answer the question and win big.

6 - Quiz questions to be tougher in KBC 10

As revealed in the press conference, the quiz questions on KBC 10 will be tougher than the earlier seasons.

7- Audio-Visual questions

For the first time in the history of the show, audio-visual or AV questions have been included in the format. These will be on varied subjects ranging from sports to politics.

8 - KBC 10 Contestants

KBC 10 has received record-breaking registrations of over 31 million people and that too within a span of just 15 days. These contestant registrations are the highest ever on Kaun Banega Crorepati. 

9 - KBC Karamveer

The previous season of KBC celebrated the Friday special episodes with 'Nai Chah Nai Raah'. KBC 10 will mark the Friday special episodes as 'KBC Karamveers', featuring people whose heroic actions and good deeds have brought about a positive change in society. The Karamveers will be accompanied by celebrities championing their cause.

10 -  KBC Play Along on Sony LIV

While watching KBC 10 LIVE on the Sony LIV app streaming online, viewers can participate in the  'KBC Play Along' on the mobile application. You can also play along with the contestants on the hot seat and win daily prizes.
