The year 2017 has been quite rough on Bollywood's queen Kangana Ranaut. Both her films Rangoon and Simran failed to impress the audiences and critics alike. With two back-to-back flops, Kangana has now admitted that her professional failures have definitely put her on a back foot.
"The offers haven't slowed but my commercial viability has been affected. The endorsements are fewer, my earnings are down and my plan to open my own production house has had to be pushed," Kangana told Mumbai Mirror.
Earlier this year, Kangana sparked controversy when she talked about her past relationships digging out Hrithik Roshan, Aditya Pancholi, Shekhar and Adhyayan Suman's name during the promotions of Hansal Mehta's Simran and also brushed her shoulders off with Karan Johar over nepotism debate. She was also mired in controversy with scriptwriter Apurva Asrani over Simran's writer credits.
However, Kangana is determined that she will bounce back into her game.
"I have signed three films, have a beautiful house in Manali, an office in Pali Hill and I'm going to Harvard so don't write me off just yet," she said adding that she doesn't want her life to become a cautionary tale but an inspiration for young girls and for that she will survive and succeed.
Meanwhile, Kangana is now gearing up for her speech at the Harvard Business School where she has been invited to speak at the annual India Conference in February 2018.
"I will talk about new opportunities in the entertainment business that TV, digital platforms and streaming sites have brought in which I want to experiment with too. I want to point to films like Hindi Medium which merged the lives of disparate social hierarchies in a realistic rather than aspirational portrayal of society," she said.
On the work front, Kangana will be seen next in her upcoming historical drama Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, which is being touted as one of her most ambitious projects. The movie is slated for release on April 27, 2018.
