Rajinikanth's "Kabali" has made a superb collection at the overseas box office in its first weekend. It has crossed the benchmark set by "Baahubali," but failed to smash the international business records of "Sultan."

"Kabali" was released in over 1000 screens in key international markets on July 22. The movie was premiered in some foreign countries on Thursday night (July 21) and it got good response everywhere. The film shattered all the business records of Indian cinema in the paid previews.

The Rajinikanth starrer registered good response on Friday and maintained rock-steady hold on Saturday and Sunday. As per the early estimates, "Kabali" has collected approximately US$4,938,631 at the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, Malaysia and Germany box office in the first weekend.

"Baahubali: The Beginning" has collected $4.5 million at the box office in the above mentioned countries in its opening weekend. It was the highest grossing South Indian film in these countries in the opening weekend. "Kabali" has shattered its total collection record, but the Rajinikanth starrer has failed to beat its business records in the U.S. and Australia.

"Sultan" has collected approximately US$13.73 million in the above-mentioned foreign countries in its opening weekend. "Kabali" has beaten the records of the Salman Khan starrer in the U.S. and Malaysia, but failed to do so in other international markets. The Rajinikanth starrer has also failed to break its total international collection record.
