Jennifer Lopez opened up about her romance with former Yankees star Alex Rodriguez during her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday, April 24.

Although JLo has teased about her relationship with A-Rod on social media, this was the first time that she spoke on a public platform. The 47-year-old singer was also a little embarrassed when the show host mentioned about her struggles in keeping a steady boyfriend.

After bringing One Direction member Harry Styles into the discussion just to tease the mother of two, Ellen diverted everybody's attention to the baseball star. "Let's talk about Alex. I'm very excited for you," she said and Lopez replied, "He is a great guy."

The On The Floor singer also revealed that she approached Rodriguez and shared some details about their first meeting. "It's very simple. I was having lunch somewhere and I saw him. He passed by, and I tapped him on the shoulder. For some reason I felt like tapping him on the shoulder and saying, 'Hi.' And then that was it. More stuff happened, but that's how we met," she said.

When Ellen asked her about their first date, JLo said, "He texted me. He said, 'Let's go out to dinner,' and I said, 'OK.' We had a nice dinner." But when the show host gushed about a sleepover, she replied, "No. Mama don't sleep over on the first date."

However, Lopez and Rodriguez were not the centre of attraction on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, it was the nine-year-old twins, Max and Emme, who made a surprise appearance on the show. While Emme sat quietly on her mother's lap wearing a pink sequin snakeskin dress, Max was a little mischievous on the floor.

When JLo described her daughter as a 'mini-me', Max tried to hide inside a prop box and Ellen suggested the mother of two to get one of such boxes at home. "Yeah, to keep him nice and quiet. This is the quietest he's been in nine years," Lopez humorously replied.
