Director Ranjith Sankar's upcoming Malayalam movie "Pretham" has been making headlines ever since it went on floors. The multi-starrer, which has versatile actor Jayasurya in the lead role, is one of his most anticipated movies of the year.

The horror comedy entertainer is set to lock horns with Jayasurya's action thriller "Inspector Dawood Ibrahim" upon their release all over India on Aug. 12.

Here are five reasons to watch the movie "Pretham:"

Jayasurya

Jayasurya had earlier shared a video, in which he flaunted acompletely tonsured look for the movie "Pretham." The kind of dedication he has for each character proves his versatility in acting, making him one of the bankable actors of the industry. Jayasurya will be seen as a mentalist, who can read the minds of people in "Pretham."

Horror genre

As the name hints, "Pretham" is touted to be a horror comedy entertainer. While very few horror movies get positive response, with director Ranjith having an experience in dealing with the genre before with the first Malayalam horror television series "Nizhalukal" in 2000, the upcoming movie is expected to make a mark at the box office.

"Pretham" is the third outing of Ranjith Sankar and Jayasurya, who have earlier worked together in superhit movies "Punyalan Agarbathis" and "Su Su Sudhi Vathmeekam." The director-actor duo's reunion is the USP of the upcoming horror movie ensuring that the audience expects a feel good entertainer.

Ensemble Cast

Having acted in many notable roles, Aju Varghese is now one of the guaranteed actors who never fails to entertain the audience with his comedy timings. He is on the way to become the next Jagathy Sreekumar of Malayalam films playing important roles in almost all the films like the veteran comedian. Aju will be seen as Denny Kokken in the movie, which also stars Govind Padmasoorya as Zumba dancer Shibu Majeed and Sharafudheen as troller Priyalal.

All India release

Unlike many other Malayalam movies, which do not get released all over India on the opening day, "Pretham," bankrolled by Ranjith and Jayasurya under their home production banner Dreams N Beyond, will be released throughout the country on Aug. 12. Central Pictures distributes the film in 91 screens in Kerala and it will be released in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune and rest of India by Fox star studios.
