UPDATE: Bangalore court convicted Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa guilty in the disproportionate assets case.

Hundreds of DMK workers, who were anticipating a verdict against Jayalalithaa, celebrated the verdict outside M.Karunanidhi's Gopalapuram residence in Chennai.

On the other hand, AIADMK party workers pelted stones outside Karunanidhi's residence.

Security has been beefed up at the DMK headquarters "Anna Arivalayam" and residences of the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and M Karunanidhi, Firstpost reported.

Police lathicharged AIADMK workers at the Hosur Road Junction near the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border on Saturday. 

A special court at the Parappana Agrahara in Bangalore is set to rule out the verdict in the disproportionate assets case against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.

Thousands of AIADMK workers gathered on Hosur road. The workers tried to break the security at the Hosur Road Junction near the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border, due to which police had to resort to lathicharge, according to The Times of India
