Junior NTR's "Janatha Garage" fared well at the ticket counters in North America on Monday, but showed a huge drop on Tuesday. The film has collected $1,582,287 at the US box office in six days.

Released in over 200 screens in the country, "Janatha Garage" collected $1,430,334 (Rs. 9.51 crore) at the U.S. box office in the four-day-extended first weekend. As usual, the movie showed over 40 percent growth on Monday and its business was better when compared to regular trends on Mondays. The film's collections also got a boost from the Labor Day holiday in the country.

Apparently, Tuesday was a very bad day for the Koratala Siva-directed action drama as it witnessed over 75 percent decline, when compared to its Monday business. "Janatha Garage" collected $144,489 at the U.S. box office on these two week days, taking its six day U.S. total to $1,582,287.

Taran Adarsh ‏tweeted: "Telugu film #JanathaGarage - USA: Mon $ 116,192 [Labor Day holiday], Tue $ 28,297. Total: $ 1,582,287 [₹ 10.50 cr]. @Rentrak."

The movie is expected to rake in over $50,000 in the next two days, before wrapping up its opening week in theatres. It is set to clash with big ticket movies like "Iru Mugan" ("Inkokkadu" in Telugu) and "Baar Bar Dekho," which will take a toll on the collection of the Junior NTR-starrer in its second week.

Junior NTR's "Nannaku Prematho" and Koratala Siva's "Srimanthudu" grossed about $2.5 million at the U.S. box office in their lifetime. Considering its pre-release hype, "Janatha Garage" was expected to shatter the records of both the movies and become the highest grossing film. But as per its current trends, the movie may struggle to cross the $2 million mark in the U.S.
