Junior NTR and Mohanlal-starrer much-awaited movie "Janatha Garage" has been released in theatres around the world today and the flick has garnered mixed reviews but good ratings from the critics.

Satyam (Mohanlal) is the owner of Janatha Garage and he helps the poor. Anand (Junior NTR) is a nature lover and he works to save environment. Accidentally, Anand lands in a problem with Satyam's gang members. But Satyam is impressed with Anand's ideology and befriends him. How they fight to save the poor together forms the crux of the story.

"Janatha Garage" has a routine story with a social message. The first half of the film is lengthy and dragging in parts and Koratala Siva struggles to establish a simple story, which gains momentum before the interval. The second half is good and engaging, the climax is outdated and predictable, say the critics.

Koratala Siva has done good work on Mohanlal's character and the Malayalam actor has done a superb job in "Janatha Garage." The director has showcased Junior NTR in a new way, which impresses his fans. The scenes between the two are the highlights of the film. Rajiv Kanakala's performance is also one of the attractions of the film, say the critics

Samantha and Nithya Menen have no scope for performance and have less screen space. Kajal's item number will impress the masses. Sachin Khedekar, Unni Mukundan, Saikumar, Devayani, Rahman, Sithara and Ajay have done justice to their respective roles role, add the critics.

We bring you some critics verdict and ratings for the movie. Continue to see them in "Janatha Garage" review round-up:

The Hindu Ratings: 2.5

The team should have looked closely at the tagline 'Ichatta anni repairlu cheyyabadunu' (all repairs will be done here) and ironed out problem areas in the script. At 163 minutes, riding on a predictable story, Janatha Garage gets tiresome. A few scenes involving Mohanlal and NTR, and the episode involving Rajeev Kanakala and GHMC staff are the only moments worth rooting for.

Times of India Ratings: 3

This Janatha Garage might give everyone a hand in repairs but they need a wee bit of repair themselves for sure. But that's no reason to miss the film.

India Glitz Ratings: 2

A routine hero-versus-villain story with a small innovation in the hero's characterization. Watch out for NTR and Mohanlal's performance.

AP Herald Ratings: 2.5

Seeing brilliant actors Junior NTR and Mohanlal working together is the highlight of the movie, but they should have brought in some talented screenwriters to get an even better product. Janatha Garage has thin story plot with most complex combinations of all genres delivered from Koratala Pen So far, This is the movie of all genres [Humane, Love, Society, Revenge, Action], It was Koratala who started a fashion of mixing humane tracks with the commercial films and score success, Janatha Garage well started on the same note... Climaxes, Conclusing the story has always been weakness of Koratala which is evident in Mirchi, Srimanthudu and it gotten worse within Janatha Garage and effects the overall out come of film.

Janatha Garage is not your regular popcorn entertainer which Tollywood churns out every week. It is a character-driven film where the onus is on serious emotions. Though NTR performs brilliantly, Mohan Lal gets a prominent role and this might not go well with NTR's fans. The film will appeal to the general audience more than the fans. Finally, if you ignore the predictable story line, you may give this film a shot. But keep your expectations in check.
