Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) opening batsman Chris Gayle will miss the next two IPL 2016 games, as he has flown back to Jamaica to see his newborn son. RCB will have to find a new opening partner for the next two matches, someone who will assist their captain Virat Kohli at the top of the order.

Gayle, who is yet to fire for RCB in IPL 2016, will rejoin the squad ahead of their game against the Gujarat Lions, which is scheduled to be held on Sunday, April 24.

"Gayle has become a father, so he has gone home to visit his family and son," RCB middle-order batsman Sarfaraz Khan was quoted as saying by PTI on Tuesday.

The big Jamaican also expressed his happiness on Twitter and Instagram, while on his way to the West Indies.

RCB will have the option of trying out another overseas player in place of Gayle. Probably, Travis Head will get the nod ahead of their game against Mumbai Indians, as Wankhede has always been a high-scoring wicket.

RCB will play a struggling Mumbai Indians side at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into this fixture on the back of respective defeats. Mumbai Indians have now lost three out of their four matches, whereas RCB have won one and lost one so far.
