New Delhi-based consumer electronics firm, Intex Technologies, launched the first indigenous curved display smartphone Aqua Curve in India, today.
Commenting on the launch, company director (Marketing) Keshav Bansal said, "We are constantly innovating to offer our consumers technology that is reasonable in terms of affordability, sturdy in terms of its robust hardware configurations and advanced in terms of its ability to multitask and connect users seamlessly."
The new Intex phone flaunts a 5.0-inch qHD (960x540p) OGS (One Glass Solution) curved display and ships with Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box.
Inside, it houses a 1.3GHz quad-core CPU, 1GB RAM, 4GB of in-built memory (expandable up to 32GB), 8.0-megapixel main camera, 2.0-megapixel snapper on the front, 2000mAh battery, dual-SIM slots, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and other standard connectivity features.
The company said the Aqua Curve is now available at more than 40,000 retail outlets (including Intex Square showrooms and online stores) for ₹12,490 across India. The handset will be competing against the recently released Micromax Canvas Turbo Mini, Lava Iris Pro 30 and Samsung Galaxy Grand 2.
Earlier this month, Intex also overtook popular local brand Micromax by unveiling India's first Octa-core based phablet, Aqua Octa. It sports a mammoth 6.0-inch HD display and packs a MediaTek based 1.7GHz eight-core CPU.
