Indian cricketer Suresh Raina and his wife Priyanka have become proud parents of a baby girl. Priyanka gave birth to a baby girl on Sunday night in the Netherlands.
The 29-year-old Gujarat Lions skipper took to Twitter to announce the birth of his daughter. He posted photos of his wife and daughter, and revealed that his daughter has been named Gracia Raina.
"Welcome my beautiful daughter. #GraciaRaina. Long wait but totally worth it. #ProudFather.She is getting dressed up for her photoshootz," Raina tweeted, adding: "Here she comes our beautiful angel Gracia Raina."
Raina, for the first time in nine years, missed an IPL match. He flew out to the Netherlands last week to be with Priyanka and welcome their baby.
"He is not coming. He is with his wife and child. So, this will be the first time in the history of the IPL that Raina will be missing a match," Gujarat Lions coach Brad Hodge told reporters on the eve of the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, according to the Press Trust of India.
"It is a huge loss if someone has almost 4,000 runs in the IPL history. Having said that we have got some players who can step into his shoes. We have players like Dwayne Smith, Aaron Finch, Dinesh Karthik and Dwayne Bravo - they are all match winners. They can step up and win a game from any position," he added.
Last week, Twitter was abuzz with the reports that Raina and Priyanka have welcomed baby daughter Shreyanshi. However, she has been named Gracia and not Shreyanshi.
