India's ace off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin might not be fit enough to take part in the fourth Test against England. His unavailability will hamper the visitors' plans as they look to draw level in the ongoing five-match series

The offie left on day two in the third Test match and complained of tightness in the hip muscle. Following this, Ashwin did not take any further part in the bowling affairs. However, India did not miss his services as Hardik Pandya sliced through the English batting lineup with a brilliant six over spell, picking up a five-wicket haul.

Did not look comfortable while bowling

Ashwin did take the ball in the second innings but never looked comfortable in his bowling stride as the players left the field at stumps. He did not swivel at the bowling crease while delivering the ball and there was also no mobility in his movements.

Although there has been no official statement released by the BCCI, Ashwin could well miss out on the next Test even though there is a seven-day gap between the Tests.

Ravindra Jadeja should replace Ashwin in the fourth Test match, but India could give Kuldeep Yadav another chance after a dismal show at Lord's.

There is worry even in the England camp. Keaton Jennings has never looked comfortable against the new ball and he could well be axed for the next match. Alastair Cook might also take a break in order to cater to his paternity duties. Jonny Bairstow suffered a 'little fracture' on his finger and could miss the Southampton Test.

Jos Buttler kept for England in the second innings as Bairstow took a blow on the middle finger of his left hand in the 44th over. The ball was delivered by James Anderson and it hooped back in as Cheteshwar Pujara allowed it to pass and the ball wobbled to collect Bairstow's finger on the left hand. Subsequent tests have shown that he suffered a small hairline fracture and will bat if needed.

After another dominant's day play on day 3, India picked up four wickets before lunch on day 4 to dent England's hope even more as they look down to chase a target of 521.
