After an inspired spell of fast bowling by Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah to skittle Australia out after lunch and open the game up for India, KL Rahul has once again let his team down.

At 190-4, Australia was cruising at lunch with Usman Khawaja and captain Tim Paine batting. Shami then dished out a vicious barrage of bouncers to remove the two along with opener Aaron Finch, after he resumed his innings being retired hurt yesterday. Bumrah then dismissed Pat Cummins and Shami picked up his sixth wicket of the innings when he bounced Nathan Lyon out.

But Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood frustrated the Indians and added 36 runs for the last wicket before Indian skipper turned to Jasprit Bumrah to clean the latter up.

Coming out to bat chasing 287 to go 2-0 up in the four-match Test series, India required a solid start from their openers Rahul and Vijay.

But Rahul continued his horror show with the bat as he got out for a duck. The opener found a different way of getting out this time as he dragged on a Starc delivery onto his stumps while trying to leave it alone.

Twitter naturally had lashed out at him for his repeated failures asking the team management to finally give up on the right-hander.

Since then, India has also lost Cheteshwar Pujara to a snorter from Hazlewood and Australia is firmly in control at tea after reducing the visitors to 15-2 with Kohli and Murali Vijay at the crease.
