The 65th Cannes Film festival kicked off on May 16 and actress Freida Pinto was the first Indian celebrity who dazzled on the red carpet of the 2012 film fest Wednesday night.
On the first day of the event Pinto, representing cosmetic giant L'Oreal, arrived on the red carpet wearing a strapless peplum gown designed by Michael Angel, for the worldwide premiere of Moonrise Kingdom.
Apart from Pinto, other L'Oreal faces walking the red carpet included Jane Fonda, Eva Longoria and Fan Bing Bing, all sporting the L'Or Electric look.
"Freida was at the red carpet on the opening ceremony and most of the shutterbugs could recognize her. Slumdog Millionaire has made her the most recognizable Indian face across the globe, after Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She's quite a regular at international film festival circuit," DNA reported quoting a source.
On the second day of the event, the 27-year-old walked the carpet wearing a lime green Atelier Versace gown for the premiere of the movie De Rouille et D'Os (Rust and Bones).
The Slumdog Millionaire actress this time chose a very different look then her previous red carpet looks and it looks like Pinto is imitating Hollywood actor Angelina Jolie's famous leg pose, which became a Twitter trend, at this year's Oscars.
