Dharmendra was last seen on the big screen in Sriram Raghavan's 'Ikkis'. His voice and acting left his fans emotional as they watched him acting in his last film. Now, 'Ikkis' choreographer has revealed how despite being in poor health, the veteran actor gave the film and a particular dance sequence his all.
The choreographer for the qawwali sequence in the film said that they were shooting for it around 2:30 am. Vijay recalled how they told Dharmendra that he could do whatever little steps he wanted and didn't have to follow any choreography. But, the 'He Man' asked what the rest of the team were doing and later insisted on doing the same steps.

The dance sequence
"It was around 2:30-3 am. We told him that he had to dance just a little bit and he could do whatever he was comfortable with but he asked what the others were doing. We showed him that the other boys were doing a leg step while holding each other by their shoulders. He asked, 'Why can I not do this?'" he told Pinkvilla.

True showman spirit
Vijay praised his showman spirit and added how he tried his best to dance despite being in ill health and old age. He mentioned that they eventually had to ask him to not do it because it was taking a toll on him. But, he refused to listen. "He insisted on doing the steps. He was sitting because for him, getting up again and again was also a little difficult... He got up and he did it. Eventually, we told him not to do it because if we have many retakes, it would be physically exhausting for him," he said.
"And honestly, dancing at that point was not very important for his character but for him personally, his thought was that he has to give his 100 percent. He was also feeling like no one should think that he can't do it so he showed that he could. We were like, 'Wow, this is fantastic'," he further added.
Hema on separate prayer meets
Recently in an interview, Hema Malini had opened up about keeping separate prayer meets for Dharmendra. She asked people not to worry about the equation between her and Sunny Deol's family and mentioned that everything was going smoothly in the family as one unit.
