The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Friday shared footage on X (formerly Twitter) showing airstrikes on an underground military bunker associated with Ali Khamenei, Iran's Supreme Leader. The IDF claimed that around 50 Israeli jets destroyed the bunker in Tehran.

"WATCH: ~50 Israeli Air Force fighter jets dismantled Ali Khamenei's underground military bunker beneath the Iranian regime's leadership compound in Tehran," the IDF posted on X.

According to the IDF, the underground bunker had been constructed beneath the leadership compound as a secure emergency facility where Khamenei could direct military operations. The facility was reportedly destroyed before it could be used during Operation "Roar of the Harrier."

Loud explosions were heard over Tehran early on Friday, as Israel stated it was targeting "regime infrastructure" across the city.
