Hyundai Motor's Grand i10 has been conferred with the coveted "Indian Car of Year 2014" (ICOTY) Award.

The car which made its entry into the domestic market in September has sold more than 33,000 units of Grand i10 in 90 days, making it one of the top 5 selling cars in India. The Grand i10 hatchback fetched the award, following tough competition from major players such as Honda Amaze and Ford Ecosport in the final rounds. In 2012, Renault Duster had bagged the title. The award was presented at the auto award ceremony in Delhi.

Hyundai Grand i10 an Overview

Launched in September this year, The Grand i10 positioned between i20 and i10 has been a successful venture in the Indian market. It has received an overwhelming salutation from the metros as well as the tier II cities. It comes in both petrol and diesel variants and the diesel variant of the car gives a mileage of 23 kilometres per liter.

 The petrol variant packs a 1.2-litre Kappa engine, which can churn out a higher power of 83 PS and 116 NM torque, while diesel model of the vehicle houses a 1.1-litre three cylinder U2 VGT motor engine that delivers 71 PS power and 163 NM of torque. Hyundai's Grand i10 flaunts premium features like smart key, push button start/stop, a double DIN audio system with 1GB internal memory, Bluetooth connectivity, Aux-in and USB connectivity, steering mounted audio controls, A/C vent for rear passengers ,rear parking sensors, glove box cooling and electric ORVMs.

The diesel variant is priced between ₹5.23 lakh and ₹6.41 lakh (ex Showroom Delhi) and the petrol models come in the price range of ₹4.29 lakh and ₹5.47 lakh. Both variants come in four trims - Era, Magna, Sportz and Asta (O).
