Sanjay Leela Bhansali's love saga "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam", which released in 1998, would have had a different climax, if the director had agreed to the lead actor Salman Khan's suggestions.

The ending of "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" shows Nandini (played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) going to back to her husband Vanraj (played by Ajay Devgn) after she realises that she loves him and her feelings for Sameer (played by Salman) has changed.

While the moviegoers enjoyed the ending of the film, Salman on the other hand had a different opinion. Salman wanted Aishwarya Rai's character to reunite with him instead of Ajay. Interestingly, it was the same time when Salman and Aishwarya had just started dating off-screen, which is the reason why the actor wanted to change the ending.

Salman even took his director-friend Sooraj Barjatya to Bhansali to convince him to change the climax, Deccan Chronicle reports. The "Maine Pyaar Kiya" director spent around one and a half hours convincing Bhansali to change the end. However, Bhansali declined Barjatya's suggestion and kept the same ending, which he decided in the first place.

Well Bhansali might have not have regretted his decision, but we wonder if that is the reason why Salman is miffed with the ace director.

In other news, talking about his equation with Salman, Bhansali told DNA that he does not know why the actor is still upset with him.

"A lot of people feel I am rude, arrogant, disinterested, but I love all the people I have worked with, be it Rani who loves me, and Aishwarya who I never need to say a word to and she's there for me, with Salman I had that, but Salman is still upset about a few things — I don't know what — but those moments are special," he told DNA.
