As Chinese mobile makers find a new home in India, the competition is getting intense. Ahead of Redmi 6-series launch in India, Honor has intensified the game for its home country rival, Xiaomi. Huawei's sub-brand launched ultra-affordable Honor 7S in the country with an aim to disrupt the affordable smartphone segment and it might be quite successful in doing so.

Honor 7S stands under the spotlight in the sub-Rs 10,000 price range. The smartphone is priced at Rs 6,999 and it will be available online via Flipkart and official Honor website starting September 14 2 pm onwards. The affordable price point doesn't compromise on the Honor 7S features, making it a tough competition to handsets like YU Ace, Redmi 5A and others.

Honor 7S joins the growing family of Honor smartphones, including Honor 7A, Honor 7C, Honor 9N, Honor Play, Honor 7X and others launched just this year. But the Honor 7S is targeted mainly towards the entry-level segment and here's a look at all the features that the smartphone offers.

Honor 7S features a 5.45-inch HD+ FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio, a 13MP rear-facing camera with PDAF and a 5MP front snapper with LED selfie light. The front camera also enables facial unlocking to make up for the absence of a fingerprint scanner.

Under the hood, Honor 7S is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6739 chipset paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage expandable up to 256GB via microSD card slot. There's a 3,020mAh battery, which comes with smart management capabilities for extended battery life.

Honor 7S runs Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box and it supports dual SIM cards with 4G support. The smartphone has all the standard sensors, including Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, micro-USB port for charging, ambient and proximity sensors.

With these features, Honor 7S is bound to make some waves in the affordable segment, where recently Micromax's YU made its presence felt with YU Ace, Oppo's Realme 2 and soon Xiaomi will introduce Redmi 6-series smartphones. Stay tuned for our review of the latest handset, which goes on sale next week.
