The film, starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead, held up well on Tuesday at the domestic box office. It accumulated ₹7.03 crore on Tuesday, taking its overall total to ₹56.37 crore, revealed trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

The drop in collection on the fifth day was limited. Due to positive reviews, the film is holding well at the box office even during weekdays. Tuesday's box office collection is the second highest of the year, after Salman Khan's "Jai Ho".
"#JaiHo Wknd 60.68 cr, Mon 9.50 cr, Tue 7.30 cr, Wed 5.80 cr. Total: ₹ 83.28 cr nett. India biz only," Adarsh tweeted in January.
"Holiday", directed by AR Murugadoss, is a remake of Tamil hit "Thuppakki" (2012). The film had one of the widest releases in India with a screen count of 3,500, which is one of the reasons why the film is faring well at the box office.
"Holiday" has so far earned ₹56.37 crore nett and should take its week one total to more than ₹65 crore nett. The film is expected to gross more than ₹100 crore by the end of the second week.
"'Holiday' has to be the biggest film to have released in the new financial year. It did good business over the weekend and it should easily be able to join the Rs 100 crore club," Mid-Day quoted Vishal Anand of Fun Cinemas.
"Holiday's business picked up slowly over the weekend. It is now to be seen how it maintains its good run," exhibitor Rajesh Thadani stated.
