Director Gopi Atchara's Telugu movie Hey Balwanth starring Suhas Pagolu and Shivani Nagaram, has received positive review and decent ratings from the audience around the world.
Hey Balwanth is a comedy drama film, which has been written by Gopi Atchara, Shanmukha Prasanth and Midhun Shankar Reddy. The movie is about a young man, who finally gets the chance to take over his fathers business. He walks into an unexpected world instead of a boardroom, and ends up juggling love, lies, and a legacy no one saw coming.
The first half is passable, with a few fun scenes and an interval stretch that lands well. The second half, however, goes nowhere. The comedy stops working, and the emotional third act feels tiring, say the audience.
Suhas Pagolu's performance is good and is highlight of the movie Hey Balwanth. Shivani Nagaram's chemistry with hero is good. Naresh Vijay Krishna, Vennela Kishore, Ajay Ghosh and Annapurnamma have also done their jobs well. On the technical front, cinematography, dialogues and music are the attractions, say the audience.

#HeyBalwanth Comedy lands in parts, but the film fails to engage as a whole! The first half is passable, with a few fun scenes and an interval stretch that lands well. The second half, however, goes nowhere. The comedy stops working, and the emotional third act feels tiring. Sudharshan gets a good role and his one liners keep the film moving. Naresh's role is underwhelming. Songs are major speed breakers. The comedy revolves around a "business" that works at first but quickly turns repetitive. The justification is also unconvincing. Few fun scenes do work here and there but the narrative as a whole lacks the substance to hold attention. Below Average! Rating: 2.25/5 #HeyBhagawan

#HeyBalwanth: "A" High Level Entertainer When a risky line is chosen, the success ratio can be very high but if things go wrong, the danger zone is equally intense.Hey Balwanth manages to balance perfectly between these two extremes. The director clearly establishes what kind of film we are about to watch within the first two minutes itself. Though the film carries an adult comedy tone, the director never crosses the line unnecessarily. The makers created strong hype around the "business" angle through the teaser and trailer, and once that element is revealed, the comedy built around it works very effectively. The first half is hilarious and moves at a nonstop pace without giving even a small break, packed with continuous punchlines. #Sudarshan's comedy stands out at its peak, and after a long time, #BabuMohan delivers genuinely entertaining moments. The second half has strong emotional core narrative. A particular scene featuring #Naresh, covering multiple heroes, works exceptionally well. The climax adds a strong emotional layer, with the father-and-son sentiment landing effectively. #Suhas appears natural in his performance, while #ShivaniNagaram is decent. Naresh balances comedy and emotion impressively, and Sudarshan's character works at another level, with #VennelaKishore and #Sravanthi also contributing well.

#HeyBalwanth unfolds through #Suhas's lens, but it is Naresh who quietly emerges as the emotional backbone. The film carries a gentle, respectful tone, balancing lighthearted moments with sincere drama. The comedy works consistently, giving the narrative an easy flow. Vennela Kishore delivers one of his most refreshing performances, while Annapurnamma gaaru adds warmth and grace to several key scenes. Shivani is apt & Sravanti impresses! The story stays simple and grounded, letting performances drive the impact. #VivekSagar Music stands out ❤️ : A heartfelt entertainer with effective comedy and strong emotional beats. Worth watching for its sincerity.

#HeyBalwanth REVIEW : Entertaining and Engaging from Start to Finish. Suhaas, Shivani and Sudarshan bring in the fun with lively performances, while Naresh steals the show with standout comedy and emotional moments. The film maintains a steady flow of entertaining moments that work and keeps us engaged throughout. Despite a slightly stretched emotional climax, it remains as an enjoyable watch that lets you forget your worries and simply have fun. Go for it!

#HeyBalwanth - Fun Worked. Drama Did Not. At least five sequences in the film generated good laughs. Especially, the fun quotient during the pre-interval, interval episodes and Sudarshan's comedy timing & dialogue delivery, worked in favour of the film. The director, Gopi Atchara, seems to have a good grip on comedy, and his social awareness is commendable as well. But, in an attempt to justify the 'business', he filled the last forty minutes of the film with unexciting drama and executed it in a cliched manner. It is where the film lost its track. Overall, Hey Balwanth, has its moments and it worked to an extent because of the comedy portions but the film would have been much better had better care been taken in writing and executing the drama. Rating - 2.5/5

#HeyBalwanth Review: Fun When Funny, Flat Otherwise Hey Balwanth runs on a wacky hook (the "business" as promoted) that delivers as long as the narrative sticks to fun. Pre-interval and interval comedy portions land well. But, post interval when it turns to drama the narrative fails to engage due to its routine and peachy nature. In the end, the movie ends up being a passable affair at best due to the mismatch in emotions (fun and drama) and connection (with the message). Try it for the fun parts. Rating: 2.25/5
