Henry Cavill has finally come out and denied rumours that he will be cast in "Fifty Shades Darker" as Anastasia Steele's stalker boss Jack Hyde. The "Batman V Superman" actor admits that he was just messing with everyone.

While the "Fifty Shades Darker" team is yet to finalise an actor who will play Steele's publishing boss Hyde, but recently, the casting rumours about Cavill essaying the character went wild after the actor's interview with E!

"Basically what I can say is I can't say anything about it right now," Cavill said when asked about the Hyde casting rumour. This sent Fifty Shades and Cavill fans into frenzy.

But now, the "Man of Steel" actor has denied the rumours and admitted that he was just playing with words.

"I'm not in 'Fifty Shades of Grey.' I'm for real. I'm just messing with everyone," Cavill confessed to USA Today.

"The first time around, everyone was asking, 'Are you Christian Grey?' I went 'No!' But no one cared and everyone kept talking about it. This time around, everyone is now still convinced I'm part of the series. Now the question is, 'Are you going to be in 'Fifty Shades Darker. 'And I thought, I'm going to try a different tact this time. See what they say. And so I tried a different tact," the actor added.

Cavill further said he enjoyed watching the reactions and dropped a hint that he will cry wolf again. "I'm going to do something like this again in the future and make a real social experience out of it," he said.

Well, it looks like fans of Henry Cavill and "Fifty Shades of Grey" will be truly disappointed. But what's important here is that the Jack Hyde spot is still open and yet to be filled.

Now, we have to wait to watch to see which actor will get into Jack Hyde's shoes in "Fifty Shades Darker" which is set to release on 10 February 2017.
