Erotic thriller "Hate Story 3" has got a terrific start at the domestic box office. The opening day box office collection of "Hate Story 3" is among the top highest openers of 2015.

"Hate Story 3" starring Zarine Khan, Karan Singh Grover, Sharman Joshi and Daisy Shah in lead roles shattered the opening day box office collection record of Akshay Kumar's "Baby" to become the 11th highest opener.

Vishal Pandya directorial film has earned approximately Rs 9.72 crore on opening day at the domestic box office. The erotic thriller broke the record of Rs 9.3 crore earned by Akshay's "Baby".

"Despite an ordinary star cast, #HateStory3 takes a FANTASTIC start. Fri ₹ 9.72 cr. Should recover costs in opening weekend itself!" trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

"#HateStory: 1078 screens ... #HateStory2: 1955 screens ... #HateStory3: 2690 screens ... Clearly, the franchise is only strengthening!" he tweeted. 

The film has already achieved superhit status in India. Made on a budget of around Rs 13.2 crore, the film has already earned more than 70% of its production cost with just first day business.

"#HateStory3 has cost ₹ 6.5 cr make. Plus, ₹ 6.7 cr for print + advertising. Total cost: ₹ 13.2 cr... SUPER HIT in terms of economics," Adarsh added.

"Hate Story 3" is the third instalment film in the Hate Story franchise. After the success of first and second installments, the third installment has opened to good occupancy.

The film targeted single screens in India and thus, it recorded more than 90% occupancy at several places. However, multiplexes registered lower occupancy compared to single screens.
