Despite the release of "Highway", Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh starrer maintained a strong hold at the box office window in its second weekend.

The film raked in 8.15 crore from its second weekend run at domestic box office. Due to the release of "Highway" the second Friday income of "Gunday" declined, but it picked its pace again on second Saturday.

The action thriller has raked in total 71.23 crore after 10 days run in India.

"#Gunday [Weekend 2] Fri 2.03 cr, Sat 2.61 cr, Sun 3.51 cr. Total: ₹ 8.15 cr nett. Grand total: ₹ 71.23 cr nett," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

Several factor including solo and Valentine's Day release worked in favour of the film.

"Not many would have dared to release a film like Gunday on Valentine's Day, and thus this film has broken several myths. The viewers got a taste of bromance and romance, because of the systematic, but aggressive promotional campaign by the makers of the movie," trade analyst Taran Adarsh told Financial Express.

The low budget film did well in India and overseas market crossing 100 crore mark at worldwide box office in second week.

However, it is quite unlikely that the film will cross the century mark in India. The film which also features Priyanka Chopra and Irrfan Khan in lead roles requires an additional 29 crore to touch the mark. The income of the film declined in second week and with the release of "Shaadi Ke Side Effects" this week, the earnings would fall down more, stopping it from crossing the mark.
