Ranbir Kapoor Ranveer Singh

Bollywood has had a history of making superstars out of the films rejected by another set of superstars. While few speak openly about 'missing-out' on good scripts due to their inability to understand the script, there are many who hold no regrets. This leaves us wondering as to which category does Ranbir Kapoor fall into?

Zoya Akhtar's 'Gully Boy' trailer, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, in probably their career-best performance, has been lauded by social media users ever since its release. After a fabulous performance in 'Simmba', Ranveer Singh is hailed as the next superstar of the country. And with the way, Alia Bhatt's career has been shaping up, it seems pretty evident that she has enlisted herself among the topmost bankable stars of the new Bollywood.

DYK Ranbir was offered the role?

Very few know that Ranbir Kapoor was offered a role in Zoya Akhtar's sensational rap saga which he had declined. As per a report in TOI, Ranbir had rejected the film as he was given another major role to be played but had to play second fiddle to Ranveer Singh. Zoya was sure about her choice of retaining Ranveer Singh in the lead role and didn't want to compromise on that. However, Ranbir wasn't ready to 'not' play the lead and still be in the film and thus backed out.

Not the first time, Ranbir

And this isn't the first time when Ranbir Kapoor has missed out on an interesting project like this. Earlier too, Ranbir had refused to be a part of Zoya Akhtar's 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' where he was given a substantial role to play.

Just like brother Ranbir; Kareena Kapoor too had rejected 'Ram Leela' which went on to emerge as a massive hit, establishing Deepika as the most sought after actress of the industry.
