Box office has high expectation from the Guardians 2 movie. With just a week to go for its release, trade analysts have already given in their verdict on the movie's box office collection.

Market analysts have predicted that the Chris Pratt-starrer will cross at least $100 million comfortably as the movie doesn't witness any major competition the day it is releasing. Forbes has forecasted that the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel will top $150 million domestically to find the spot of the second biggest opening of 2017, placing itself behind Beauty and the Beast's $174 million mark.

Guardians of the Galaxy made revenue of Rs 94 million in its opening week and earned a remarkable $773 million at the worldwide box office. Forbes predicts that the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 could touch 60 and stands a chance to make 80 per cent more than the previous movie.

The film is bound to become one of the biggest box office grosser of 2017 following the massive success of GotG. The first Guardians movie stands at the fifth highest grosser's position in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, reports Deadline. The popularity will not see a hit anytime soon.

The weekend release spot has been rather lucky for Marvel. The studio has released Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Age of Ultron and Iron Man 3 over the last weekend spot of April and have turned out victorious at the box office.

With the movie releasing a week in across Asia, Europe and Latin America, Deadline predicts that the film will have owe 58 percent of its first week box office collection to the international market. The collections from these markets will also contribute to the first week collections of the GotG Vol 2 worldwide box office collection.

Guardians of the Galaxy will release on May 5 in China, the same day and date as US, and this will be crucial for the movie. Opening in the second biggest film market on the same day holds an advantage and the success of Fast and Furious 8's box office success in China proved so. The film rained money, making it the second highest grosser of the year yet and also pushed the envelope for the movie to touch a $1 billion mark.

Produced by Marvel's Kevin Feige, GOTG2 will take forward the team's adventures, focusing on the mystery of Peter's aka Star Lord's (Pratt) true past. Featuring Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff and Elizabeth Debicki, the film is directed by James Gunn.

The movie will also release in India on May 5.
