Release date and price details of the long-rumoured Google Nexus 9 aka HTC Volantis slate have surfaced online, inciting excitement among Android fans.
The technology blog, The Bright Side of News, citing credible sources, has claimed that Google will unveil the HTC Nexus 9 on 15 October and release the device to the market on 3 November for $399 (around €316/₹24,500).
Unlike earlier, when the devices went on sale exclusively on Google Play on the release day and later to other retail shops, this year HTC Nexus 9 would be made available across other e-commerce shops and brick-and-mortar stores on the same day, the sources added.
Though the website claims that the HTC Nexus 9 will make its debut on 15 October, there is no official word from Google to hold any media event next week. So until the company comes out and clears the rumour, this report will remain as pure speculations.
The launch date of the HTC Nexus 9 is debatable at this point, but there is credible proof that the 2014 flagship Google tablet is real and will soon make debut either next week or on a later date.
This comes as the American chipset maker, Nvidia, had revealed some confidential details related to Nexus 9, in its legal document in the case pertaining to patent battle with Samsung and Qualcomm.
Inside one of those documents (courtesy, BSN), Nvidia has revealed that the company's new generation Tegra K1 (64-bit Nvidia Logan processor) has been used in the upcoming HTC Nexus 9 due to get released in the Q3 this year, thus confirming the existence of the HTC-Google Nexus 9.
The forthcoming HTC Nexus slate is said to sport a 8.9-inch screen with 2,048x1,440p resolutions and ship with the new Android L OS, 2GB RAM, 16GB/32GB storage, 8.0-megapixel primary camera and a 3.0-megapixel camera.
Like its predecessor, the tablet is also expected to come in two variants - one LTE device and another Wi-Fi only model.
