Google Nexus 6 Stocks Sold Out within Hours in USA; Will it Repeat Same Success in India?

The eagerly awaited Google-Motorola Nexus 6 has received an overwhelming response in the US.

Many media houses have reported that the Nexus 6 pre-order service, which went live on 29 October on Google Play, ended in just a few hours.

Both Nexus 6 - 32GB and 64GB - models (Midnight Blue and Cloud White) pre-order pages are currently showing the caption - "We are out of inventory. Please check back soon" - with no mention of any specific details on when Nexus 6 will return to Google Play.

This raises the question whether Nexus 6 will get the same reaction in India (world's third biggest smartphone market), like the Xiaomi devices, which get sold out in seconds. But many are skeptic of the Android phablet repeating similar success as its price starts from ₹40,000 (in USA).

However, if we compare this price tag to other top-end devices like Apple iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and LG G3, Nexus 6 comes out as a smart buy.

Though Nexus 6 may not sell at the same rate as Xiaomi Redmi 1S (or Mi3), it is ccertain to give stiff challenge to other high-end phablets in the market. Previously, Motorola had tasted huge success in the Indian midrange smartphone market, with Moto G (Gen 1. and Gen 2.) and the affordable Moto E.

In related news, Google Nexus 6 pre-order service in select European regions (including the UK and the Netherlands), which was slated to take off on 3 November, has been postponed to 18 November, reported GSMArena.
