To help to get better perspective on the rumoured Nexus 6, we have sifted through the numerous reports and compiled select features, which are more likely to make the cut in the Google's 2014 marquee smartphone.

It was said HTC's Nexus phone would boast a monster 5.9-inch display, but the new report from Android Police has claimed that a Nexus phone is in fact will be made by the Google's very own device-division - Motorola Mobility (soon to be acquired by Lenovo).

The company has already begun project 'Shamu', (named after famous orca of San Diego SeaWorld amusement park), which is quite believable since the search engine giant is known for naming sea creatures for its flagship devices. For instance- Google Nexus 5 is internally know as Hammerhead (a Shark species), Nexus 10 (Mantaray, a giant fish species) and the list continues.

Coming back to Nexus 6, it is said the phone will boast 5.2-inch QHD aka 2K resolution display (2,560x1,440p) with pixel density of 500 plus ppi (Pixels Per Inch).

Even the recently leaked AnTuTu benchmark results (Courtesy, G4Games) have shown same display specifications.

Google Nexus 6 Processor, RAM & Storage Details:

Recently leaked benchmarking (AnTuTu) results indicate that the Nexus 6 would ship with the Qualcomm's monster chipset Snapdragon 805 series (APQ8084) quad-core processor, which can clock a max CPU speed of 3.0GHz. It will be backed by Adreno 420 graphics engine and sumptuous 3GB RAM.

Like previous Nexus devices, Nexus 6 is expected to come in various storage variants, most probably - 16GB and 32GB models. However, if the company incorporates microSD card slot, it will certainly cheer fans.

Google Nexus 6 Camera Specifications:

According to leaked benchmark results, Nexus 6 reportedly houses 13.0-megapixel main camera and a 2.1-megapixel snapper on the front.

There are no other details regarding photography-enhancing features as such, but if the company plans to win fans' hearts, the successor must feature enhanced OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation).

Many tech pundits had compared the 'camera department' as the proverbial "Achilles' heel" of Nexus 5.

Google Nexus 6 Mobile Operating System:

There is no price for guessing in this aspect as every Android fans know that Nexus series devices being a Google affiliate, it is all but certain that Nexus 6 will ship with the latest Android software v4.5/v5.0.

This time new OS will have nomenclature beginning with 'L'. If rumours are to believed, we can expect company to name the OS with delicious dessert monikers, most probably choices would be - Lollipop, Lemon Tart, Liquorice or Laddu (a Indian sweet).

After the announcement of KitKat, Indian Android enthusiasts had started a campaign to name the new Android OS version as 'Laddu'. They have even opened a dedicated webpage to convince the OS' chief Sundar Pichai to look towards the motherland to name the next Android, reported Firstpost. Similarly, another group of IIT (Indian Institute of Technolgy, Kharagpur), said to be Sundar Pichai's (senior vice-president, Google) alma maters, are persuading him to name the new OS after 'Lassi', sweet curd milk.

At this point of time, nobody is sure whether Google's Android team would name the new OS version Laddu/Lassi or not, but the new software will have fully re-designed interface, says the new report.
