Google launched a new version of media streaming dongle Chromecast 2 along with Chromecast Audio in India on Wednesday. The search giant first released Chromecast in the country in 2014, and now the updated version has arrived a few months after it was made available in a few countries, including the United States.

Both the Google Chromecast 2 and Chromecast Audio are priced at Rs. 3,399 each, and listed on Google Play Store. The devices will be available from several marketplaces, including Flipkart, Snapdeal, Paytm, Reliance and Croma. The first Chromecast that was released in India in 2014 came with a price tag of Rs. 2,999.

The new Google Chromecast 2 comes with a new design and is easier to plug into TVs with crowded HDMI ports. It also supports the latest Wi-Fi standards and adapts to changing Wi-Fi that helps solve buffering issue.

"We added two new colors so you can cast in style while watching content from your favourite entertainment apps including Netflix, Hooq, Eros Now and YouTube," wrote Mickey Kim, head of Asia Pacific Partnerships, Chromecast and TV, in a blog post

Chromecast Audio is another device that enables people to stream music, radio and podcasts over Wi-Fi when plugged into speakers. It supports several apps, including Saavn and Wynk Music, and works on Android and iOS devices and laptops.
