Though Basil had earlier hinted about his marriage in an interview, the director has officially announced the big news and introduced his lady love via his Facebook account.

"This is Elizabeth, we call her Eli. Its been seven years since she has been suffering me from Engineering college in Thiruvanathapuram. Now, she has agreed to handle me lifelong. So we discussed it with our parents and are getting hitched soon. Like somebody said a long time ago, life is not about happiness alone. So, I have decided to take the plunge. Please bless us [translated from Malayalam]," Basil wrote while sharing a photo with Elizabeth on his Facebook account.
