Chinese smartphone maker Gionee has launched its latest phablet -- GPad-G2 -- in India with a price tag of ₹ 13,990.

The dual-SIM phablet GPad-G2 sports a 5.3-inch qHD display with 960 x 540 pixel resolution and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core Cortex A7 processor. It comes with PowerVR Series5XT GPU and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.

The smartphone houses 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card. In terms of the image shooter, the phablet comes equipped with an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front facing camera. The connectivity features of the handset include dual SIM 3G and 2G connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth , GPS, micro USB and 3.5mm jack.

GPad-G2 comes with preinstalled apps such as Facebook, NQ Security, Twitter, YouTube and many more. The device will be available in graphite black and white colour variants. Gionee claims the phone comes with inbuilt Digital Theatre System (DTS) which would deliver superior audio. The company launched the phone in India with freebies such as a 16GB microSD card, screen guard and Flip leather case.

The latest offering from Gionee will put direct competition to the quad-core devices like the Micromax A116 Canvas HD, Xolo Q800 and the Celkon A119Q Signature HD. Gionee hopes to cash in on the rising demand for the big screen smartphones in India with GPad-G2.

Earlier in April, the company launched Gionee P1 smartphone in India for ₹4,999.The entry-level Android smartphone sports 3.5-inch (480 x 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and is powered by 1 GHz MediaTek MT6515M processor. The phone, which runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, packs connectivity features like 3G, Bluetooth, WiFi 802.11 b/g and micro USB.
