Producers Karim and Ali Morani's residence in Juhu was attacked by unknown people on Saturday night, but no injuries were reported.

On Saturday, at around 10:30 pm five rounds were fired at Morani brothers' residence by three bike-borne men. The Morani family registered a case in the nearby police station against the unknown men.

"The bike that came from Juhu circle direction sped towards Juhu police station area. Two security guards were on duty at that time. Atleast three rounds were fired from one of the assailants which hit the trunk of a tree, glass pane of the building and the bonnet of a BMW car parked inside the building," a police officer told DNA.

Apparently, Ali had received a threat call from gangster Ravi Pujari hours before the shooting, but he did not answer the call. Following the firing, Ali's daughter received an SMS by an alleged gangster. In the message, the gangster threatened the producer with dire consequences, a crime branch official told DNA.

Investigation is on and police is checking the footages of the CCTV camera in the area to identity the attackers.

Following the incident outside Morani's residence, police have provided a security cover to Morani brothers'. Police might also provide security to Shah Rukh Khan since he is close to the producers. Police suspect that the gangster may attack Shah Rukh also.

"Morani and Khan are close friends and we suspect that Ravi Pujari may attack Khan also. So we are providing two officers for his protection," a crime branch official said, according to Daily Bhaskar.

A source close to the "Happy New Year" actor also revealed that Pujari has previously targeted Bollywood celebrities and hence they asked police to review SRK's security.

Earlier, Pujari made threat calls to several filmmakers and actors, which include Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Farhan Akthar and producer Boney Kapoor.
