Ram Gopal Varma, Ram Pothineni, Nani, Nikhil Siddharth, Rahul Ravindran, Allu Sirish, Lavanya, Surabhi and a host of other Telugu celebs wished their fans on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi and posted photos of Vinayak idols.

Ganesha Chaturthi, which is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi or Chavithi, is the Hindu festival celebrated in honour of the god. Bal Gangadhar Tilak had transformed the household worshipping of Ganesha into a grand public event (Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav) in 1894. He used this event to build a national spirit beyond the circle of educated elite in opposition to colonial rule.

The celebrations of Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav consisted of several days of processions, music and food in Maharashtra. This festival is celebrated in a grand way Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Several Telugu celebs brought Ganesh idols and performed pooja (worship). Later, they took to their Twitter accounts to wish their fans. Some celebs even posted the photos of the Ganesh idols installed at their homes.
